For first time usage, please make sure you format the memory card before using it. The format should be FAT32. This is normal for all memory cards. Please see "How to format MicroSD" on the How-Tos section below.
If it is already formatted, please make sure you inserted the card all the way in. We have a video showing you how to do this. Please take a look at the video section below.
Note: The camera Hotspot only shows up if you haven’t setup the Camera to connect with your Home/Work WiFi network. Once setup, the Camera will default to that WiFi for all connections. Reset the camera to Factory Settings to be able to connect the Camera via its own WiFi Hotspot again.
Open your phone’s WiFi Settings
The camera’s WiFi Hotspot should look similar to the picture below (but not the exact numbers)
Note: you should be near the camera for your phone to detect the Hotspot
Tap on it to connect. This should only take a few seconds.
Open the mobile app and you should be able to add the camera to the app
Note: After connecting to the camera directly via its own Hotspot, you can add the camera to your home WiFi for greater access. Connecting the camera to a WiFi network will enable you to access it from anywhere in the world through the mobile app.
Note 2: if you change your WiFi network such as from Home to Hotel or Work WiFi, you will need to re-configure the camera to connect to the new WiFi. Please see "How to change Camera WiFi Connection" for details.
Reset the camera to Factory Settings to be able to connect to the Camera via its own WiFi Hotspot when there is no WiFi.
Tap on the gear icon
Choose “Device Settings”
Tap on “WiFi Config”
Choose the WiFi you want to connect to
Enter the required credential for that WiFi
Tap “OK” to let the camera restart (about 30 seconds). Do not unplug it from the outlet.
The camera can now be access from anywhere in the world. Enjoy!
On Motion Detection: the camera will automatically take 3 photos and record video. Photos and Videos can be seen in the “Snapshots” and “Recordings” tabs in the app.
On Continuous Recording: the camera will record videos 24/7 in many small clips. You can configure clip's duration. When storage space runs out on the memory card, it will delete the oldest clip to make sure for the newest clip. This is also known as Loop Recording.
Tap on the gear icon. Choose “Device Settings”
Tap on “SD Card Record Config”
Select the record option you want
Record Off: no record will occur, but you can still view the Live Stream in the app.
Record When Alarms: this is the Motion Detection recording. It will only record when motions are detected. 3 photos will be taken as well.
Record All Day: this is the Loop Recording. It will record and recyle if storage space runs out on the memory card.
Timing Record: beside Motion Detection and Continuous Recordings, you can also record at a specific time.
